“Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.” Ezekiel 3:10

In his call to the prophetic ministry, God told Ezekiel something of great importance: “receive my words into your heart.” As a prophet, it would be Ezekiel’s job to speak the words of God. He would do that frequently. Yet, before Ezekiel began speaking, God taught him here the importance of internalizing these words for himself.

Talk can be easy. Words can sometimes flow freely, even good words. But, it is not enough to merely know the things that are true, but to embrace and internalize God’s words. The heart is our spiritual center. What is in our heart will dictate how we live and what we value. Do the words of God “dwell in your heart richly”? (Col. 3:16).

The living God has spoken! He has revealed Himself and His will through the Scriptures. These words should mold and shape our thoughts, actions and spirit. May we seek God thru His word, and ask Him to fill our hearts with His word.
